In fourth place and right on the ragged edge of the track. Time for some weapons action
The 3Dfx'd, high-spec'd 3D racing genre is becoming crowded on the PC. Meanwhile Take 2 reckon they've got enough twists and turns on the basic model to thrust their entry to the top of the pile...

Thrust, Twist, Turn? That's you on a Saturday night isn't it?
Oh hilarium. You little tinker. My days of all that Saturday night disco fever are long gone. No, the title refers to the 3Dness of this particular racer.
But they're all 3D these days. That's why I bought my 3Dfx card.
You're thinking the wrong 3D. Your cars may be solid but Take 2 reckon the tracks are all a bit 2D in most of the current crop of racers. In TTT they've designed the tracks in real 3D, with hills, jumps, loops and the like.
Oh cool. Sounds a bit like...
Stunt Car Racer? Exactly. As we pointed out in our news story on the game a few issues ago, the development team have been heavily influenced by the Geoff Crammond classic and have attempted to recreate it for today's PC market. Hopefully we won't end up with another WipeOut on wheels.
The Thinking Man's racer then?
And more. Not only will you have to apply some grey matter to get round the game's pre-designed courses - slowing down for hairpins, getting your acceleration right to land properly after a particular jump and so on, but there's weaponry to add to the equation.
