Dear Future Gamer,
Great magazine, like the offline idea, blah, blah, blah, all the usual stuff about how good it is. Anyway, on to the four points of my letter.
1. Over the last couple of months a lot of people have been complaining about how it is so bad having to upgrade their PCs all the time. I can see why they want the latest system, but is it all really necessary? Two years ago I bought a P200 MMX system with 16Mb RAM and a crap graphics card and it served me fine for a good year. Just last week I upgraded the RAM to 32Mb and got a VooDoo2 3dfx card. This is the only upgrade I have ever made and again, my PC is easily able to play all the latest games with good results. So, my point is, why bother upgrading with every new little thing when for £100 every two years your PC can be great again?
2. I regularly use all the major games systems and agree that they all have their merits, but even me as an avid PC fan, may be tempted to get a PS2. Specs look very nice indeed.
3. With the Dreamcast using a Microsoft Windows-based OS and being able to connect to the Internet, I wonder if Sega has considered one major problem. I have already seen plans drawn up by some malicious hackers planning to cause havoc with what they see as pathetic console owners. For DC owners it could be a very bad experience indeed and I only hope that Sega has some excellent anti-virus/anti-hacking system built in.
4. A very minor complaint. In FG22 Archer Maclean said that Bude is in North Devon, living in the area I can tell you it is in North Cornwall. And the sea-front arcade he mentioned is still there 28 years later, how wonderful. Sorry about that trivial quibble.

Thanks for that Nick. In response:
1. Sound advice, the only real problem with PCs being the massive initial outlay (compared to purchasing a console).
2. We agree.
3. I'm sure Sega are well aware that people using their machines on the Internet may well be first-time users and will make it as easy and safe for them as possible.
4. Did he really? I knew Bude was in Cornwall, how on earth did that get through the final checking? Sorry.
