Die Hard Arcade 2
Dreamcast Price: £40 From: Sega
Players: 1-2 Age: N/A Release: Out Now

True, you do get to choose from three characters, so die hard (excuse the pun) gamers will take an hour to go through it all the way, but that's no remedy for a game that's quite simply too short and too easy to complete. There are plenty of fighting moves to use in a rumble, but it soon degenerates into random button bashing which, incidentally, works very well for finishing the game.

Outrageous moves and ridiculous weapons (exploding Brussel Sprouts and giant Salamis join the rocket launchers and machine guns) make the game fun, especially in two-player mode, and with various secrets to unlock and play around with, you'll come back to this. Ultimately though, it still suffers from being too damn short.

Graphically it's superb. Big rendered characters combined with great backdrops and tacky 'kidnap the President's daughter' cut-scenes create an atmosphere that almost gets you hooked, but the game doesn't last long enough for you to get completely drawn in. Throwing in some old arcade game that you wouldn't have heard of and will care about even less when you've played it does not add value for money.
