| Conker's Pocket Tales |
| Game Boy Color |
From: Rare |
A new game from Rare is always something to look forward to, but Conker's Pocket Tales slipped into the shops with minimal hype, despite suffering more than most from the legendary Rare delay syndrome. So it's a surprise to find that, while it isn't a Zelda-beater, it's actually an enjoyable, lightweight arcade adventure. Conker, the fairly hideous squirrel character, scampers around collecting presents and gathering acorns in his search for his kidnapped squirrel lady friend. The puzzles are shockingly simple, but there's a lot of them and it's pleasant enough to look at. Aimed at kids, definitely, but don't be surprised if you manage to rack up a few hours on your nephew's copy.

| All Star Baseball 2000 |
| Game Boy Color |
From: Acclaim |
If you've ever watched a game of baseball on TV or played one of the impressive All Star Baseball games on the N64, you'll know how seriously the Americans take the sport. It's crammed so full of stats and technicalities that there's really little chance for an outsider to appreciate the finer points of the game. But if you do know your baseball, this is a comprehensive and playable simulation. From play-offs to exhibitions, via the ever popular Home Run Derby, All Star Baseball 2000 is about as complete a sports game as you could wish for. It looks tidy, it's easy enough to hit the ball and a fading memory of playground rounders is all you need to get by.
