| Force 21 |
| PC |
From: Take 2 |
The year is 2015 and China has invaded Russia. You get the chance to control either the US Force 21, intent on stopping the Chinese, or the Chinese force itself. Yes, you've guessed - it's another real-time strategy game. And it's a bit of a looker too, with some lush landscapes, realistic vehicle movement and glorious explosions. There's also a lot of depth, in that you get a wide range of vehicles to command. However, there are no infantry units and you'll find yourself quite limited when choosing tactics, with only four main formations available. Even worse, the game is rather slow and won't really grab your attention. With so many top notch RTS games out there, these faults mean that it's hard to recommend this one, despite its many good points.

| Sinistar: Unleashed |
| PC |
From: THQ |
The original Sinistar was a classic of its time, and many a gamesplayer will have jumped out of their skin the first time the eponymous alien bellowed 'I live!' from their games machine. The basic elements of the gameplay are the same in this update: blow up asteroids, collect crystals and then, when the Sinistar appears, blast it with Sinibombs. Of course, the graphics have been brought up to date and look really stunning, and the gameplay, while retaining the same frantic pace, has also been revamped. The Sinistars also now use different tactics to destroy you, some using shields or needing to be hit in certain positions. They also look a lot more impressive too, with some great effects and shields and tentacles galore. However, there's still a tendency for the game to get repetitive, but for a post-pub half-hour frenetic blastathon, you won't go far wrong with this.
