| Sled Storm page 2 of 2 |

Unlike so many other racing games, Sled Storm is able to deliver action off the beaten track. You really can go anywhere and do anything, often defying the laws of gravity. Every course offers numerous alternative routes, and there are just enough different tracks to keep you interested in completing the single-player challenges. Perhaps the most interesting feature, though, is the ability to upgrade your sled after winning cash from championship races. Whether it's a set of headlights or a quick start transmission, there are plenty of parts available for purchase. This is a simple but effective feature that's surprisingly absent in the majority of racing games.
Essentially, Sled Storm is an above-average racer and little more. The repertoire of tricks isn't large enough for it to be a bona fide Cool Boarders 3-beater, but it represents an entertaining multiplayer diversion nonetheless, and an exhilarating, visually exciting title in its own right. The PlayStation may currently be overwhelmed by games of this ilk, but while they're as polished and silky smooth as Sled Storm, no-one would argue that that's a bad thing. As an adjunct to your existing 'extreme' games library, you can't go far wrong - just don't expect it to blow you away. Man.

| Thankfully this is one extreme sports game that isn't extremely poor. Sophisticated graphics and a great multiplayer mode make up for the slightly dull single player challenge. |
