| Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing |
| Game Boy Color |
From: Ubi Soft |
Playing a driving game on the Game Boy is often like returning to the days of tape loading and rubber keyboards. The little 8bit handheld just doesn't have the muscle to shift a 3D road at a decent speed - or so we thought. Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing manages to look better and move faster than the current crop of GB racers, and it's blessed with some nice background graphics and a startling fog effect. You won't find many other bikers to overtake, but the handling is responsive and the courses are good enough to make the two-lap races a lot more exciting than Top Gear Rally.

| Space Invaders |
| Game Boy Color |
From: Activision |
This version of the game that started it all has been updated and remixed, although the new look is something of an acquired taste. Shooting the UFO that flies across the top of the screen now gives you a power-up, such as three-way lasers or temporary invincibility - very handy for disposing of the beefed-up invaders, some of which can take a real hammering before they finally give up. If the prospect of chunky new aliens and turbo-charged ships doesn't appeal, you can play the basic original version too. It's nowhere near as good as the likes of R-Type DX and Defender, but it's still a tasty addition to any Game Boy retro collection.
