And what kind of cars will I be driving?
There are 12 classic cars featured in the game, including the Bugatti 35B, the Auto Union C (the precursor to the Audi, apparently) and the Alfa Romero P3. And they're not as tardy as you might think - the 24-litre Napier Railton, for example, could do 0-60 in four seconds, which ain't half bad!

And they all handle as they should?
Oh yes. Although these cars were built by chaps with hammers and hacksaws, the designers have spent a lot of time on the game's physics model to make sure they handle as they would have.

What of tinkering with the car's set-up?
There's not a great deal of it, actually - these beasts were filing cabinets on wheels with an aeroplane engine up front, don't forget. The most you'll get to tinker around with are the car's gear ratios, which need to be changed to suit the track. Remember, these are the days when they used to be very fond of great big sweeping banked curves.

And multiplayer?
Natch. The game's going to be able to support up to eight players on a LAN, and on the Internet... erm, well, we don't actually know just yet. Sorry.

Doesn't matter.
Thanks. The whole point of the game is the attitude of the era - hope and aspiration, courage and bravery - and it's for those who want to feel they're in control of the car and not vice versa, like today's cars where every single detail is computer-controlled.

Tally Ho!
That's getting closer to the spirit of the thing.

  • Old-fashioned cars...
  • ...that demand skilful control
  • Great-looking cars and tracks
  • The '30s were great
  • Grand Prix Legends got here first
