Some car names let you know exactly what kind of ride you're in for. Take, for example, the Ford Mustang - five litres of throbbing muscle strapped onto a hunk of metal. The same can not be said for the awful Ka, or Argonauts' Red Dog...

So Red Dog is a type of car?
Of sorts. It's actually an assault vehicle, decked out with laser and missile systems. Aliens have invaded a distant planet and it's up to you - yes, you - to wipe them out. That's why you need to use Red Dog, instead of a Capri or Escort.
A truly gripping story. Can the gameplay live up to it?
It seems decent enough to us. Nothing groundbreaking, mind you, but there's quite a lot of fun to be had nonetheless. There are 15 single-player missions in all, set over sprawling hi-res landscapes. You can roam around freely, much like in a traditional first-person shooter, blasting alien scum into oblivion or zooming off and looking for a safer way round the back.
I suppose it looks really nice.
As you'd expect from a Dreamcast game, the presentation is top-notch throughout, with fancy lighting and explosive... erm... explosions?
Does the car-thing handle well?
It's alright and pretty easy to get the hang of too. The two triggers act as your accelerator and brake/reverse and the analogue stick points you in the desired direction. Amazing, eh? The other buttons are used for unloading heaps of destruction.
