Mini-Review
|
| Sega Rally 2 |
| PC |
From: Empire |
Both Sega Rally and Sega Rally 2 were great console games, so the hopes were high for the PC version. And though not completely dashed, our hopes have been let down slightly. The game looks great and plays alright, but something's been lost. The cars were never the 'heaviest' on a console (they didn't feel they had enough weight) but on the PC they somehow seem even lighter. This isn't a disaster but keeps the game firmly in the arcade sector (which, er, it should be really). For a more satisfying rally game, try Colin McRae's or Rally Championship, both of which offer a more realistic rallying experience.

| Puzzle Bobble 2 |
| PC |
From: Agetec |
There's no denying that the Puzzle Bobble range (we're up to number four on the PlayStation) has an excellent puzzle game at its heart, and the games have all been excellent on console and handheld machines (though some would argue there's not enough between each incarnation to merit purchasing the sequel), and Puzzle Bobble itself was well converted to the PC. This one's not so hot because it looks pretty average and though the game plays well enough, the lack of polish and attention to detail leaves us feeling there's been a general lack of effort in converting it. There's no denying Puzzle Bobble is a great game - one you should definitely own - but this conversion isn't up to scratch.
