Dear Future Gamer
Having only just read this week's issue of your magazine (FG64), I'm surprised to see that you have an import round-up. I'm very happy about this as, having only recently discovered the joys of import gaming, I think more people should know about it. I started with the US Tekken 3, which had a ridiculous change in speed for the PAL version, making it very difficult to time combos or juggles. I buy most of my games on the Internet from the North American region now as they're not only faster and earlier but also cheaper. For instance, according to my credit card bill I paid about £26 to get GT2 before Christmas.
The reason that I'm surprised you cover imports is that a few weeks ago you told one correspondent to not even consider buying a foreign PlayStation2 as it wasn't worth the trouble. I intend to buy an American one when it's released but I don't know what else is required for it to work as my present PlayStation is chipped. I would like to know, and seeing as you've embraced imports, I think a proper feature on it would be a good idea.

We started our import game round-ups because we know a lot of people are interested in the subject. We still wouldn't recommend buying foreign machines because any tampering with them to get them to run in a territory for which they weren't intended invalidates the warranty. You can go and do what you like, but we've got to tow the responsible line and suggest that you buy a machine intended for your territory.
