Clan Report

Well, doesn't time fly? It's over two months since we last gave you the latest gossip on the Future Gamer Clan, so there's a lot to catch up on. Since then, we've witnessed the most inevitable anti-climax ever - the non-appearance of the Millennium Bug - and a Sheffield Wednesday win away from home. However, all of these major events pale into insignificance when compared to what's been going on at Future Gamer Clan Central.

Online gaming clans have been a feature on the Internet for a few years now, but few outside cyberspace know anything about them. This is all set to change though, as the FGC is officially famous! Well alright, we've got a long way to go to emulate the success of Posh and Thong, but you've got to start somewhere. Now we all understand that Future Gamer is the only games magazine you'll ever need, but you do read at least one of our print cousins, don't you? Go on, don't be shy - we'll still love you. It's a good job you do, because in no fewer than 27 paper publications are adverts for this very ezine, with a large FGC influence.

In case you haven't visited the newsagents yet, they feature the mysterious [FGC]_Shell and describe why FGC was created, all those months ago. Without meaning to sound too full of ourselves, this nationwide publicity for a gaming clan was before now unheard of in Britain, and we would all like to extend our thanks to "Jarvie" (Alan Jarvie, our resident Scotsman and ad creator - Ed), designer of the advert, for making us the most well-known gaming clan in Britain. Somewhat predictably, other magazines are forming their own clans, but remember - it was Future Gamer who started it all off!

So yes, we're all feeling very proud but the FGC show must go on, and indeed it has. The extra publicity has boosted our hit count at our current home, http://fgc.whacky.net, where you'll find a wealth of frequently updated clan-related and general news to browse through, as well as the ever-increasing features section and many other goodies. Special credit must go to [FGC]_Attica, who has been superb since joining our news team, while others (myself included) have been taking a well-earned New Year break.
