Mini-Review
|
| Pong |
| Game Boy Color |
From: Hasbro |
Well, it had to happen. After updating just about every remotely successful retro arcade title, the game that started it all has been dusted down, given a fresh lick of paint and drafted for service on the Game Boy Color. This version includes such delights as Jungle Pong and Soccer Pong and it went down mystifyingly well on the PlayStation. You might think the Game Boy is perfectly suited to this kind of thing, but who needs a bat and ball game when there's Tetris, Pokémon and Zelda out there? Pong has all the lasting appeal of a wet fart.

| Yoda Stories |

They do make them like that any more! We thought the days of bedroom coders, slaving away over a hot rubber keyboard and a copy of the ZX BASIC user manual, were long gone, but it looks like the fine art of amateur programming is alive and well. Yoda Stories looks and feels like something typed in from the listings in the back of Sinclair User, circa 1986. It's a shame because there seems to be the hint of a decent game struggling to make itself known from behind the jerky graphics and terrible music. One for the less discerning Star Wars fans.
