Flying Heroes page 2 of 2 |

I've played games before; I've got a handle on that. Is there plenty of variation within each clan though?
Certainly is. Each one has six different types of craft and each craft has four levels of upgrade. Success in the game is rewarded with an injection of cash that the player gets to spend on various improvements (better armour, better ships or creatures, better weapons... you get the picture).
And does it look good?
The early version we've been playing certainly does. There are some 10 different arenas to fight in and each one's fairly big and offers different features for a slight element of tactical play to come into the equation. Which is nice.
And how does it play?
Satisfactorily, for the moment. There's still some tweaking to be done, but we've enjoyed flying around trying to pop huge airships and the like.
And single-player mode?
Here you've got a career mode in which you're attempting to work your way up through leagues. The resource management aspect of the game is a lot more complex in single-player mode, so solo-flyers should find themselves with plenty to think about.
Do say...
He swoops! He soars! He lets loose with a fireball!
Don't say...
Chicken.
24 different craft to fly around in
24 different weapons to blow said craft out of the sky
10 gorgeous different areas to play in
Career mode for solo players
The variety might run out sooner than expected
