Mini-Review

| NFL Blitz |
| Game Boy Color |
From: Midway |
Midway's dismal NFL Blitz would be a clear winner of the award for Worst Game Boy Color Graphics. Not only that, but it could even give Mortal Kombat 4 a run for its money in the Most Unplayable Game stakes. It looks like a Spectrum game with a bad case of colour clash and we've seen Game & Watch machines with more involving gameplay. It's amazingly slow too - the players seem to run like the soles of their feet are covered with superglue. Despite coming with a large range of options and plenty of cheat codes, NFL Blitz is something that even the biggest American football fan should steer well clear of.

The simple pleasures of riding a BMX and chucking papers through double-glazed windows are reproduced very nicely in this funky arcade conversion. The aim of the game is to deliver papers to the subscribers on your route and vandalise the houses of the evil non-subscribers. If you manage a clean run then some of the heathens will change their ways and sign up for a daily delivery - it has to beat stepping on broken glass every morning anyway. There's a bike track at the end of the street for some after hours fun, and then it's back to the street for another delivery run. A decent conversion of a classic game.
