Electronica

Dear Future Gamer,

First of all I would like to thank you all for this interesting, informative (and free!!!) ezine. It's as good as a printed magazine, but much more appropriate to the genre, somehow, as a result of being electronic.

In the very near future I am told that Internet access shall also exist for PlayStation 2 as it does for Dreamcast... so way to go... perfect market placing and a valuable advertising tool on the one hand; on the other full of good info for games consumers like myself.

I think a competition is more than possible, the sheer amount of products you probably have going through Future Gamer's HQ indicates that PR & marketing departments should be more than happy to supply small prizes. This week could be Metal Gear Solid, for instance... I'd enter, indeed I would probably set up multiple email accounts to bag the beast.

One area where you could enjoy new opportunities for coverage has to be online gaming, a new area to me but a recent and pleasurable discovery nevertheless. My personal penchant is for Myth 2 courtesy of Bungie.net. Any time of any day you find folk there who want to play. As a future gaming area (particularly in those rare countries with cheap phone calls - unlike here) it's ripe for expansion.

In any case, to reiterate, congratulations on a potentially innovative new magazine format. Ta.

FG: We're working on the competitions Jonny, trust us. As for online gaming, we've got an excellent feature covering that whole area in a forthcoming issue. Watch this space.
