Trade weekly MCV leads with news of the expected break up of Psygnosis assets. Plenty of companies are hovering and looking to pick off any development studios which may become available in the near future. MCV suggests that Eidos and Infogrames could both be looking at studios in London and Paris. Infogrames are also on the verge of buying out Gremlin, too. Acquisitive times, eh?
Meanwhile, rival trade weekly CTW leads with news of Virgin seeking to bring charges against their German chief Christian Gloe. It doesn’t get any more exciting than that. CTW also reports that retailers are voicing concern over the lack of blockbuster titles due for release at the Easter period. The eagerly anticipated PlayStation title Ridge Racer Type 4 won’t be released until after Easter. Viva Football and UEFA Champions’ League are due in the next two weeks along with Silver (PC) and FIFA ’99 (N64). Exciting times…
