PC Release: August '99 From: MicroProse

Did we mention that these things were big?

The BattleTech science fiction world has spawned 38 novels thus far. Never heard of it? Tsh. It's a world populated by huge BattleMech robots with human pilots that love nothing better than fighting other BattleMechs. Wanna go?

BattleMechs? They sound a bit dangerous.
You certainly wouldn't want to get trodden on by one. They're as big as houses and weigh enough tons to sink a battleship. Or something. They can't half shift too when they've got a mind to, so running away's not usually an option.

Sounds like my number's up already.

Your 'Mech's firing system (and you can have up to 33 weapons) is governed by a cooling system that does tend to overheat if you're too trigger happy. And if you overheat badly you shut down for a couple of minutes to cool off and become the world's biggest sitting duck.
