It would probably be wise to shoot the closest one first
Future Gamer turned out the lights and hid behind the sofa as Sega's latest Naomi/Dreamcast port squelched into the office...

Zombies... aaaaaaaagh!
Indeed. Zombies are rather unpleasant, to say the least, and the zombies in House of the Dead 2 are so foul you can almost smell the decay.
Really? Is it as scary as the arcade version?
The Dreamcast version is practically identical to the arcade original, which isn't surprising considering that the arcade's Naomi board is very similar to the guts of the Dreamcast.
So do you get all the same levels?
Not only do you get all the levels from the arcade; the Dreamcast version includes a host of additional modes of play.
Like?
'Practice' and 'Boss' mode. Practice is great fun, almost like a mini shooting gallery. There are ten levels with which to hone your shooting skills. Boss mode gives you the opportunity to take on the end-of-level bosses, but not all of them - you'll have to earn the right by doing well in 'Arcade' mode.
Practice shmactice! I don't need that... I'm mint!
Mwah-ha-ha... you'll soon learn. This game is seriously tough, even on 'easy' skill level with nine continues. The 'Practice' and 'Boss' modes will need to be mastered if you are to have a fighting chance at completing the game proper.
Have you tried playing it with the gun?
But of course. And what a crazy-looking gun it is - like something out of Blake's 7. It does actually work rather well though, with a handy port in the back for a VMS or Puru Puru (rumble) pak.
