A Site For Sore Eyes
|
| Lords - the home of cricket |
The Cricket World Cup is upon us. What do you mean you don’t care? That’s just not cricket. Cricket is part of life. Googlies, silly mid-on, popping crease – the game has its own mysterious language. It’s a game that you can play for five days and still not have a winner. When you’re in you’re out, but when you’re out, you’re in. Eh? EH?
And half the time it rains anyway. However, the Lords cricket site is enjoyable to meander around. You can follow all the latest World Cup scores, send friends electronic cricket postcards and even buy those big floppy hats in the online shop. Read all about the history of cricket and find out just why the Ashes are so called. There’s a special World Cup section which features the lyrics to the official World Cup song, written by former Eurythmic Dave Stewart. Here’s one of the verses…
The sun is up
The sky is red
No grey clouds inside your head
The air is full of electricity
It blows through you
And it howls through me
Nice!
