This really is a little bit special. Some guy has decided to reproduce the entire Star Wars movie using ASCII characters. The whole thing is animated too and contains nearly all of the dialogue from the film.

Such is this man's dedication that he has already created 11,207 frames - and that only takes us up to the destruction of Alderaan! There's also a fantastic FAQ on the site, for those who want to know a little bit more about the painstaking process.

Strangely enough, after watching it you feel a more complete appreciation of the Star Wars universe. It's as if when you break the whole thing down to crudely drawn scenes and dialogue, it makes a lot more sense. Without all the fancy visual trickery you realise that Star Wars actually has a really interesting story.
