| Codemasters sign Music 2000 |
Jester Interactive to produce Music sequel for PlayStation and PC
Hey DJ, turn up the bass. Jester Interactive's successful Music: Music Creation for the PlayStation (snappy title!) has lead Codemasters to sign up the tunesmiths to write a sequel. This time around, Music will be available for both PlayStation and PC - although a music package would hardly be a first for the PC!
Music 2000 will contain a feature enabling folk to plug in microphones for extra sampling and Jester plan to add rock and indie styles to the blip blip dancebeat options. Jester reckon that Music 2000 will appeal to both novices and more experienced user (apparently, it will have 'true 24-track generation and MIDI compatibility').
"With the original, we committed to delivering Music as a funky, accessible proposition - not a piece of creativity software for specialists - and we achieved that in all major markets," said Michael Hayes, Codemasters' sales and marketing director. "We now have a fantastic, creative user base throughout Europe but the launch of Music 2000 will talk to the mass market and appeal directly to those consumers who have yet to buy into the Music experience."
Music 2000 is set for a Christmas launch and Codemasters plan to back the package with a TV advertising campaign.
