China Crisis

PlayStation 2 deemed too hot

The United States Commerce Department has determined that the PlayStation 2 is so powerful that they would have to be notified before it could be shipped to China. This particular legislation has been in place for some time and aims to prevent sophisticated technology from falling into the hands of bomb makers.

However, if the Chinese really want to get hold of the latest kit, they only have to pop over to one of the five Toys 'R' Us stores in Hong Kong - still considered a safe place to send new technology to, even though it reverted to Chinese control two years ago.
