Skeletons are always scary, that's why we don't peel our skin off for fun
The magical world of dreams has intrigued mankind throughout history. Some people are inspired to create great works of art, while most of us are usually confused or scared out of our wits. Why? GT Interactive think they may have the answer...

What is it? And don't get all Freudian on me!
Don't worry about that - we're certainly not going to get into A-Level psychology here. 40 Winks only tells us why some dreams are good, while others fill you with terror.
Yeah, right! And why is that then?
Well, there are these cute little Furby-alikes called Winks. Their raison d'être is to make sure that you only have good, sweet dreams. Unfortunately, a terrible man called NiteKap has other ideas. You see, he hasn't slept for a long time and has become incredibly mean and grumpy. He feels that if he can't sleep, he sure as hell doesn't want everyone else to enjoy peaceful slumber every night.
So he makes a 'really loud noise' machine?
Nice, but no. He has decided to go out and kidnap all the Winks and turn them into evil Hood-Winks. These nasty little buggers jump into your dreams and turn them into nightmares. You may have heard them giggling under your bed.
Oh, purlease! I don't believe that tripe for a minute.
At least try to get into the spirit of things - it's a game... and it's for 'the kids'.
That old chestnut.
Hmm. Anyway, there are only 40 Winks left in existence and it's up to you to save them all before the nice dreams vanish forever.
How do I do that then?
40 Winks is a 3D adventure, similar in many ways to Super Mario 64. You take control of either the sickly-sweet Ruff, or his similarly afflicted sister Tumble (thank God they didn't call the game Ruff 'n' Tumble!), and work your way through various dream worlds freeing the little Winks along the way.
