Dear Future Gamer
Nintendo did the whole £30 thing first you know, with the Player's Choice range. Alright, they were old games, but why is it only just Sony games now? It's like, so unfair! I sincerely hope that retail (as you so fondly call "the shops") start selling every Sony and Nintendo game at the cheaper prices, and not just as a promotional marketing stunt that lasts until July 15.
I read somewhere that this time-limited scheme is a move against software piracy which, actually, doesn't magically end on the 15th. If Sony and the big N really do want to end piracy, they should actively prolong this scheme as it will undercut software pirates. Look at it this way: why would Mr McPirate bother paying all that money for a Doctor V64 (or whatever it's called) when the official games are actually cheaper to buy than they are to pirate?

As you'll know by now Neil, most places have put their prices back up. Lower software prices are indeed a good weapon in the fight against piracy, but only if the volume of sales at retail increases significantly.
