Dear Future Gamer
I think the size of the box is valid point (FG38) but I remember when you could judge a game by the weight of the box. If the box was 2kg upwards you were pretty sure of a good, well documented game.
I think that today's manuals leave a lot to be desired and rarely contain all the info you need.
Also without a large box they will not be able to put as many screen shots and game info on the back and this is the info I tend to base part of my purchase choice on.

You don't know how upsetting your letter is to me T. I agree with your point about a heavy box usually meaning there's a decent manual in there (not that us real gamers need to read manuals eh?) But a bigger box because they can put more screenshots on! And that's what helps you make your buying decisions? Oh Lord, I don't know why we bother reviewing games at all. The screeshots on the new N64 Superman box may be great, but deary me, the game's dreadful. Never, ever, ever, base your buying decisions on how good the game looks on the box - or even what the marketing men have written about their own game on the box either. Read the Future Gamer reviews, that's what they're there for.
