Dear Future Gamer
I was wondering if you could kindly clear something up for me. Electronics Boutique advertise as being able to exchange and sell secondhand console games but state that they can't do the same with PC games because it's illegal. However, there's a chain of stores down here in the West Country called Games Exchange (a dozen shops or so from Plymouth to Bristol) who openly specialise in buying and selling used PC games. If this practice is indeed illegal, as Electronics Boutique say, then surely it's akin to setting up a high street shop called Dawn's Brothel, Dave Military Hardware or Joe's Video Piracy. What's the score?

Curious, isn't it? I rang our local EB and, indeed, they don't buy and sell secondhand PC games but couldn't tell me why. "We just don't I'm afraid - I don't know why," was the sales assistant's reply. I certainly don't think it's illegal - I suspect EB took that policy line because it's unlikely you'll be dealing in pirated console games and yet pirated PC games are much easier to pass off as secondhand.
