Here's a new feature for Future Gamer. They are exactly like our normal reviews, but one-eighth the size. We shall call them... Mini-Reviews...

| Animaniacs |
| PC |
From: South Peak Interactive |
Alright, so you can pick it up for £20 and it's aimed at kids, right? But the fact remains that Animaniacs is dreadful. The game revolves around collecting some film canisters scattered around a bunch of not terribly well-designed 2D platform levels. The PC games market has moved on a long way since even kids would put up with such poorly designed and badly implemented fare. Even fans of the Animaniacs series - and hey! Aren't we all? - are going to be sorely disappointed at this tosh. You'd be much better off spending your money on 20 quid's worth of Animaniacs videos, or taping them off the telly and going to the pub for a good night out.

| Battleground 9 - Chickamauga |
| PC |
From: Take2 |
Talonsoft revolutionised the wargaming market with a great isometric battleview system and simple-to-use interface and they've been, well, milking it ever since. This latest offering does little to expand on their earlier games, some of which have been most excellent and some of which have been distinctly mediocre. This one falls into the latter camp unfortunately, and does nothing to get the blood pumping. If you're a big American Civil War fan, you'll have another game that covers the battle at Chickamauga and there's little here to make you want to add this to your collection. It's not dreadful, it's just terribly average and reinforces our thoughts that it's about time Talonsoft updated the game's engine.
