Dear Future Gamer
I'm writing to express my disgust at the hiring of Catherine Channon at the Official UK PlayStation Magazine. Have any other readers complained yet? Her column is a pile of rubbish, and a very arrogant pile at that. Every issue she goes on about how hard she works to produce demos for the mag and how we should all be grateful. However, since she's appeared in the mag the only proper demo she's delivered was the RR Type 4 demo, and she probably had nothing to do with that. Important demos such as Star Wars and V-Rally 2 have been delayed, and even a video of Star Wars hasn't featured yet. Also, most of the disc contains old, re-released demos. This is dreadful - the CD was really the only reason I bought the mag. After all, they have sold themselves out. Anyone reading the current issue shouldn't be surprised at a feature that was virtually an ad for Gillette Mach 3.

FG:
What exactly are you complaining about, Navin? Us using Catherine? Or her column in PSM? Or her working for PSM in the first place because she hasn't got some demos you're after? If it's the first then sorry, but she's a bloody good writer, knows her games and is more than welcome to continue writing for Future Gamer. If it's the second, well, you can't please all the people all the time, and I suspect the point of her column is to generate some reaction, so it's working. If it's the third then you simply don't understand just how difficult it is to source and secure the demos for PSM each month, a task that our Mr Bradley used to do and one he'll attest to being extremely tough. You can't blame Catherine for games' slippage, and that includes demos, which are often considered to be secondary to getting the game finished (for obvious, and good, reasons).
