So can I be Damon Hill?
Yes! You can be Hill, Frentzen, Irvine, Hakkinen, Coulthard, Schumacher (hiss) or any of the other proper drivers. There are 22 drivers in all, making up the 11 teams.
Can I drive for Jordan?
Grrr!
Just kidding. I suppose you can tinker under the bonnet, so to speak.
You can change just about everything in order to gain an advantage, from the straightforward (tyre selection, amount of fuel) to the downright technical (spoiler settings, brake sensitivity, gear ratios). There's even a telemetry system that allows you to analyse your car's performance on every part of the course.
All the usual stuff then. Would I be right in saying that this is the same as the N64 games but with better graphics?
Yes. But the graphics really are lovely, especially during the instant replays. The TV camera view, in particular, gives the impression that you're watching the Grand Prix on...
... TV? On a Sunday? With some cans of light ale? Wearing a rather fetching dress?
Exactly. But because it's not a TV programme you can jump in and have a go, without risking life, limb and possible imprisonment.
Stunning TV-style presentation
All the proper teams/drivers/cars/circuits
Runs at 60Hz
Same as the N64 version, but with better graphics
Brings nothing new to the genre
