Prince of Persia
Game Boy Color From: Red Orb

Games as diverse as Mario 64 and Tomb Raider owe an awful lot to Jordan Mechner's revolutionary Prince of Persia, which introduced such innovations as motion-captured animation, the ability to hang on to ledges by your fingertips and stealthy tip-toe walks across sensitive traps and rickety bridges. All of those things come as standard in most 3D adventures now, but you won't find too many of them on the humble Game Boy unless you invest in this excellent conversion. It's an almost exact replica of the original, reproducing all the heart-stopping moments with colourful clarity on the small screen, and boasting a superior control system. Buy it!

Mini-Review
Rugrats
Game Boy Color From: THQ

Say what you like about the character design (shrivelled old men with huge heads and romper suits), but there's no denying the enormous popularity of the world's premier cartoon ankle-biters. This Rugrats platform adventure is one of the few Game Boy titles to make a significant impression on the full price console sales charts, and although it's hardly the most inspired example of its kind (the object of each of the 10 levels is to collect a certain number of scattered items and reach the exit before the timer runs out), there's enough of the simplistic jumping and collecting gameplay to keep a pre-teen Rugrats fan happy for a few hours.
