More? Haven't they given us enough already?
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation fully supports the Dual Shock analogue controller. The left stick is used to move the posh bint around, while the right one makes her look around. It works pretty well, although depressing the left stick to jump proves a little tricky at times. The best new addition is the revamped inventory. Certain items can be combined, like the shotgun and flashlight, adding a new dimension to proceedings. Best of all, certain guns can be combined with a laser sight, allowing for Metal Gear-style snipery. Everyone loves sniping and Core have done well to finally realise this.
Yeah, about time too! What about this 16-year-old Lara business?
That's all you really wanted to know, isn't it? Eidos insist that this is integral to the plot, filling in a lot of gaps in the Lara story. It's actually a training level based in Angkor Watt, Cambodia, and Lara is indeed 16. The level is designed to 're-introduce' players to Lara, as well as to familiarise new players with all of her silky skills. For this reason, Lara is completely unarmed and must rely on her guide, the eminent Professor Von Croy, to deal with any baddies. She looks pretty much the same, apart from the extra ponytail (she used to have only one, you see) and already exhibits an ample handful.
Of what?
Oh come on!
Nice new graphical effects, particularly in the water
Gameplay feels well balanced, more akin to the original
Combining items is a smart new addition
Lara can climb ropes and slide down poles
It's Tomb Raider again
