Groovy! But is it all just 'race a season' or 'single races'?
There's your single races, of course, but a lot of Ford Racing is geared towards the game's career mode, where the player is racing against 80 other drivers in five race classes. You start out as a rookie and have to work your way through the amateur class races in order to build up some funds and prestige that will gain you sponsorship and the ability to move up the racing ladder. Eventually, if there aren't too many disappointing race failures, you're given the chance to race for a team. This means you can amass enough money to fund your racing activities at the highest world level, and once you're at the top of the pile, a whole range of vehicle and accessory combinations become available.

Neat. But I like racing against my friends...
And you'll be able to do that. The game's multiplayer mode allows some 16 boy-racers to fight it out amongst themselves at once.

What other features has it got?
Have I mentioned that it's got 10 accurately modelled tracks? Well it has. And as I hinted at earlier, when you've reached the top of the pile (won a Championship, actually) you get to drive round them backwards. Oh, and there's a neat 'picture-in-picture' facility.

Eh?
Well, you can opt to have a little camera in the top right of the screen that shows where the race leader is on the circuit. It's groovy and should prove to be very handy.

Vroom!
"You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do," as Mr Henry Ford himself said. Then again, he also said, "Chop your own wood and it will warm you twice." Clearly he was mad.

  • 12 accurately modelled cars to race in
  • Picture-in-picture facility
  • Involving career mode
  • New features become available when you win a Championship
  • Ford still isn't the sexiest name in racing
