Dear Future Gamer
Once again the "game bigots" are back with the anti-whateverconsoletheydon'town argument, as Ian Massie demonstrates. I was glad to note your disagreement with this view. I am a veteran gamer and have been since my days at college. I've had the chance to see how the arcade and home games have developed and I feel that with little chance of contradiction, the single most important thing that pushes this industry to new heights is the arrival of 'the next big thing'. This could either be a revolutionary new game like Space Invaders or Street Fighter II or a new home console.

FG:
I agree with you, Joe - it's innovation that drives this industry, whether that be a game or a machine, and I'd suggest that the reason people slag off systems they don't own is because they don't want to feel they've bought into the wrong system themselves. N64 owners don't want to think they've bought the wrong console and so rip into the PlayStation whenever possible to make themselves feel better. It's a type of thin security blanket.
