A Site For Sore Eyes
|
| Animated Classics |
February is famous for one day that's increased the amount of love and happiness in the world for years. Yes, it's Matt Groening's birthday on Tuesday. Groening, as you'll all know, is the genius behind animated classic series' The Simpsons and Futurama, and the number of sites dedicated to the two programmes is staggering. The newly revamped official Simpsons site is a good place to start, with guides to upcoming episodes, loads of Simpsons-related merchandise and even your own email address.
You'll find more stuff at The Simpsons Archive, with details on over 200 episodes, some little known facts, a collection of articles and interviews with cast members and loads more. If you still crave more things yellow and animated though, there's an absolutely huge collection of web links to other sites to satisfy you.
Groening's new sci-fi series, Futurama, is already shaping up into a classic show, with an alcoholic robot called Bender and more weird aliens than you could shake a stick at. It's also becoming very popular on the Internet too. The official site is a bit light on content, but it's still one of the best ones around at the moment, with guides to the characters, online videos and an interview with Matt Groening. Also impressive, although in the process of moving, is the Futurama Icon site, which has an episode guide, graphics from the series, details on the cast and lots more.
Oh, and apparently it's Valentine's Day on Monday too. If you want to snog your PC, click here.
