Guess what kind of game this is. Go on. No, not a puzzler, nor an action adventure. Try, "Is it a real-time strategy game in fully three dimensions, perchance?" Yes! It's an RTS in 3D! Wahoo!

Steady on with the sarcasm...
Sorry, but it seems to us that we're previewing a 3D RTS almost every other week these days.
Er, you are. But that's not Take 2's fault.
Indeed not. Positive spin coming back...
So?
Right! This is the game formerly known as Warmonkeys, from Silicon Dreams.
Oh yes. I'd heard of that.
Good. And, as mentioned already, it is indeed an RTS in 3D, but the game's got a few important little gameplay details we think your attention should be drawn to.
Oh good. Like what?
Steady. Background first...
Sod that. Tell me about the game.
Oh, all right. The 3D terrain, as we've come to expect, affects how you fight the battles in the game because it offers cover and affects your line of sight. Silicon Dreams reckon Dogs of War is the first true 3D action tactics game. What they mean is that they've combined arcade action (you running around shooting things) with the brow-furrowing strategy associated with RTSes.
Which could be good.
Indeed. The early version of the game we've been playing blends the genres well.
Can I have loads of vehicles to play with?
There are up to 200 detailed units within a level, so the battles can get pretty hectic. And, stat fans, there are some 25 levels to battle through, with some 35 different units, including infantry, troop transporters and aliens.
