Dear Future Gamer,
Ta for the great free mag. Anyway, I was thinking about the PlayStation 2's backward compatibility. I'm in favour of it in principle, but will we ever use it? I'm a proud PlayStation owner, and I have Gran Turismo and Ridge Racer. I can honestly say I haven't played Ridge Racer in about a year.
Within one console's lifetime, the early games have become obsolete, and well, crap. With the PlayStation 2's amazing graphics power, Gran Turismo and the like will be extremely dated, and just put in a box in the attic. Is backwards compatibility really worth it?
On a completely different matter, in response to the "True Blue" letter in FG19, I do not think so-called 'bad' language should be censored out. True, I am only 15 years of age, but kids as young as six (my little cousin has a real blue streak!) are saying all of these words. And if a few words are put in your magazine, it's not going to shock or offend me or any other younger person. You hear more on the streets, and on TV.

FG:
Here at FG we think backwards compatibility is a Good Thing. Suppose you've just bought your NGPS, you don't want/can't afford and new games for it yet. Play your old games until you want/can get some NGPS-specific titles. You either don't buy new games until you've really exhausted your old ones or you buy new ones and move on. You pays your money and you takes your choice.
