Dear Future Gamer,
You state in FG20 that "Playing old PlayStation games on the Next Generation PlayStation will not improve them. They will look and sound just as they do on the old PlayStation."
I'm pretty sure that in all the gumpf I've read on PS2, that someone said the graphics will be improved. Obviously the complexity of the models can't be upped, but I can see no reason why they couldn't be better shaded and rendered in higher resolution. Most importantly of all, maybe they can fix that annoying glitch that affects PS games ... where the polygons don't meet properly so you can see "behind". I guess that must be simple rounding errors.
I would be very surprised if something wasn't done with all that extra power.

Sorry to disappoint Ed, but we're pretty sure that old PlayStation games aren't going to look any better on the NGPS, simply because the games were coded to use the power of the old PlayStation, not NGPS. All that extra power will, indeed be going to waste I'm afraid. If you're a programmer who's got a better understanding of these things than I have, drop me a line and explain to us all, in layman terms, just why old games won't look any better on NGPS.
