The Language Of Videogaming
|
| PlayStation 2 |
When Bert Sony waved a piece of paper at a gathering of developers and publishers in Tokyo a few weeks ago, everyone immediately forgot that Sega made videogame consoles. The aforementioned sheet documented the technical specification of PlayStation 2 (or Next Generation PlayStation. Or PSY. Or PS-Y) and made noises about some mysterious chip or other. Cue hysterical press coverage ("... and it's not just FMV, they actually actually started playing with them!"). People even stopped talking about football in the tap rooms for a day. Or so. Games are already reportedly in development for the next PlayStation. Namco are working on Tekken, Square on a Final Fantasy and Capcom on Resident Evil. All bloody sequels.
