Sega Europe's chief operating officer, Kazutoshi Miyake, reckons that Sony will cut the price of the PlayStation to £69.99 in the summer, according to trade paper MCV (The Market for Home Computing & Video Games). Miyake reckons that Sony will do whatever they can to deflect attention from Sega's forthcoming Dreamcast launch which is mooted for September 9.

MCV also reports that Safeway are the latest supermarket chain to stock videogames (along with Tesco and Sainsburys). Infogrames, GT Interactive and Take 2 are the three companies fighting it out for the rights for Psygnosis' PC range across Europe

CTW (Computer Trade Weekly) leads with news that Electronic Arts are going to set up a multi-million dollar studio in Australia, probably in the Brisbane area. Having secured a chunk of Interplay, French publisher Titus are set to take full control of the US publisher, according to CTW. Titus, apparently, are aiming to become one of the top 10 publishers in the world.

Nintendo reckon that the Game Boy will outsell the N64 in the UK this year. The GBC range will be boosted when red, lime, yellow and blue casings are released on June 11. Even better, Top Gear Pocket will be the first GBC title to feature 'rumble pak' technology when it's released at the end of the month (CTW).
