Game Kid
He's game and he's the kiddie... page 2 of 2

One hour later the whole family watches as a delivery man appears at the door, struggling with a huge object trailing cables. It's half the size of their living room.

"Is that thing going to fit through my front door?" Marge wonders
"Sure it is."

CRASH!

"Hey! Just a minute! Has it got the memory of a small university?" says Homer.
"Mister, it is from a small university," the delivery man sniggers.
"Oh. Okay."
"Mmmggghhh..."

Two hours later, as the delivery man is struggling to connect up the massive machine, Lisa is bombarding him with awkward questions.

"Are you sure you know what you're talking about? A gopher is a type of software that gives you access to a huge body of information, organised through a hierarchy of menus. It's not a small furry rodent found on golf courses."
"Shud up kid."
"Can you surf the Net with this, mister?" asks Bart.
"Junior, with this baby you can steam it. Watch this."
"Cool."

Suddenly Homer sees something on the screen that takes his fancy.

"Hey what's this?
'RING THIS NUMBER FOR FREE SCHMUCK BEER.' "Hhhggghhh... Beer..."
"Dad, I really do think you should be wary of downloading from an individual's website - especially if they seem to be offering something for free."
"But Lisa, this is beer we're talking about!"

10 minutes later, unnoticed in the corner, the TV is flickering.

"Kent Brockman here. Following our story about the theft of Springfield University's main frame, reports are coming in concerning a mysterious computer virus that is attacking the town's entire essential services. And now you'll have to excuse me a minute. My auto-cue no longer seems to be working."

Suddenly the whole room is plunged into blackness.

"Doh!"
"Hey, that's my line."
"Mmmggghhh..."
