Dear Future Gamer
I've been playing computer games for blah, blah, etc, etc, years.
However, I've always played on consoles or at the arcade. Recently I bought a powerful PC and thought, "Great, now I can play some really cutting edge games." And sure enough there are quite a few good games, but I can't control them with the poor quality game controllers available. I know you'll probably recommend Microsoft's Sidewinder or something but all of the game pads for sale are flimsy, inaccurate and generally very poorly made when compared with Sony's great Dual Shock or Nintendo's N64 controller.
Keys and a mouse are fine for games like Quake and Half-Life, but for software like GTA, FIFA and numerous driving games where analogue control is important, the keyboard and/or mouse combination isn't accurate enough. Some of the steering wheels look good, but to buy a decent one you have to shell out well over £100 - very steep when compared with Sony's Dual Shock controllers that retail at £19.99.
So come on manufacturers, can't someone make either an analogue
controller that's of good quality or an adaptor and some drivers so
existing peripherals from consoles can be used on a PC? I'm sure there's money to be made if the right product gets released.

Well said John. How is it that Sony manage to bring us the lovely Dual Shock controller for under £20 and yet anything that costs that much for the PC is streets behind in terms of quality and performance? Any peripheral manufacturers out there like to explain themselves, or even better, point out some of their products that are just as good as console controllers and cost around the same? I won't hold my breath.
