Dear Future Gamer
In reply to Alexander Moller's letter (FG35), I take his subject matter very seriously. It amazes me that people can still be so narrow minded and blinkered when it comes to the games and the various platforms available. If you're a PC gamer who looks down on consoles, may I suggest that you subscribe to another ezine, such as 'PC Pedantic' or something, because you obviously seem happy to bury your head in the sand and ignore any innovations being made on other systems.
I think the majority of readers will agree with me when I say that I want to know about developments on all fronts, whether it's the Game Boy, PlayStation, PC, N64, Dreamcast, etc. As a games player, I want to know about all the games that are available, regardless of whether I actually own that particular platform. Could you seriously expect any kind of innovation or originality from designers if they have the same views as you and only ever work on one platform and refuse to look at the whole picture?
While PCs are getting better at running games, they're still a long way from becoming 'plug and play', unlike any console I could name. I'm sure many people would agree with me when I say the keyboard and mouse aren't always the best method of controlling games, and in many cases are a hindrance. Anyone care to try playing Gran Turismo on a keyboard? Or Zelda? No thanks, I gave that up during the Spectrum era.
Future Gamer is for games players. PC bigots, or bigots of any other platform, can always read something more biased to their narrow interests.

FG:
Thanks Kev. Future Gamer is, indeed, a gamers' magazine. We're interested in the whole games scene, regardless of platform, because we're interested in good games. Although it escapes some people's attention, we do aim to balance the magazine each week so there's something for everyone to read, and that's what we'll continue to do.
