Here's a new feature for Future Gamer. They are exactly like our normal reviews, but one-eighth the size. We shall call them... Mini-Reviews...

| Thrust, Twist + Turn |
| PC |
From: Take 2 |
Sadly, Take 2's take on the classic Amiga racer Stunt Car Racer just hasn't lived up to expectations. The game promised much with its 3D track design where its twists, loops and ramps were supposed to add another dimension to the gameplay. That didn't quite work though, because the cars proved to be far too unwieldy to be enjoyable to drive. Falling off the tracks is too easy, which soon crushes any excitement and T, T + T ends up being a below average racer that's best avoided.

| Total Annihilation: Kingdoms |
| PC |
From: GT Interactive |
Cavedog's Total Annihilation proved itself to be a cracking RTS a couple of years back, and so it's only natural that they should tweak the game engine, tart up the graphics and set it in a fantasy world for the sequel. And it's not half bad, either. It's not the fastest of games so expect it to chug if you're on a lowly P200 or similar, and it's not the revolution we were expecting. The storyline's fractured and don't expect your enemies to be too clever if you're playing solo. Things are better in multiplayer mode, but even here you'll find yourself thinking you've seen it all before.
