Getting a Job at ECTS page 2 of 3

Day 1. With a bag full of CVs, I headed off to London. And that's exactly where they stayed on Sunday - in my bag. I admit it, the show got the better of me. It's not that I didn't see the recruitment stands - it's just that, well, they paled in comparison to the shiny (if rather warm) stands of Sony and Nintendo. I mean, would you rather play Perfect Dark and Gran Turismo 2 or... um... well, you get the picture!

Day 2. Upon arrival I headed straight for the Sony stand - not that I was looking to get my hands on a Wip3out rucksack, honest! While there I spotted the girls from Channel 4's Bits, playing GT 2 no less - irrelevant perhaps, but it set the tone of the day. Also, a quick glance at the passes adorning the necks of people wandering about showed that there were plenty of members of the development community in attendance. If nothing else, today proved that there was certainly the opportunity to talk to people in the industry who otherwise might not be easy to get in direct contact with.

Before the end of the day I collected a few leaflets from some of the recruitment stands, mostly lists of jobs for programmers and artists. I didn't see anything in QA listed at all. Datascope Recruitment had the best literature available, though even this wasn't much - just an introduction to the company and a leaflet with a few brief tips on CVs and interviews.
