| In It For The Money |
Dear Future Gamer
Sony nest feathering? Surely not. To suggest that a scrupulously charitable company like Sony are just in it for the money is contemptible. Their prices for games are the lowest in the land, bar Sega's Dreamcast, and that's a new console so you'd expect them to be cheaper. There's surely a very good reason as to why the PS2 DVD won't be capable of playing video DVDs, other than your cynical theory that they want to sell us the same thing twice. I'm sure that the nice men at Sony's PR department have a perfectly good explanation or are thinking one up even now. I'm certain it has something to do with giving gamers better value. Of course, the perceived value of Next Gen releases unnecessarily on PS2 discs will also be higher, but that's just a side effect of good value and not an excuse to bump prices up.
I think Sony are by far the most decent and honest company in the world. When the PS2 inevitably slips back it will be because they were trying too hard to please their loyal customers, not because they were trying to spoil the Dreamcast launch, as naughty people keep suggesting. So leave poor Sony alone. They can only have our best interests at heart.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, apparently. I don't agree - I think it's right up there with farting.
