Dear Future Gamer

I think the PS2 looks pretty dull, but the PS box is hardly a work of art either. (Although it does add a lovely splash of grey to my front room.) I'm not too unhappy it doesn't have a modem. Of course, if I were living in the US and got free local phone calls, that may change.

What impresses me is that we should be getting an incredible, state-of-the-art machine which will play games better than anything else, plus a DVD player thrown in. For £229, that really isn't at all bad.

On another note, I was just wondering why you haven't really mentioned System Shock 2 yet. From what I've read on the Internet elsewhere, it's supposed to be the best thing ever. Doesn't it warrant a mini-review at least?

I guess I'll just have to wait for my copy to arrive...

FG: Just to answer your System Shock 2 query John, we've got a review in the pipeline and, all things being equal and with a tail wind, will be running it next week. We can't cover everything but we certainly try to make sure we've got the big names, like System Shock 2, covered.
