Issue 49 - October 14, 1999

DC: Future Gamer's Top 10 Games page 2 of 2

6. Toy Commander - October
Relive your childhood with No Cliché's visually stunning Dreamcast debut. Plenty of missions, loads of vehicles and a great four-player mode make this an office favourite. We've got a feeling that some people may just miss the point, establishing Toy Commander as something of a cult classic. Check out our preview here.

7. Sega Bass Fishing - November
It's just like real fishing, only you don't get cold and you don't have to handle maggots. Phew. A joy to play using Sega's Fishing Controller, with enough reel-windery and motion-sensor wizardry to keep you quiet for a long while. And it doesn't make a mess of fishy lips. Known in Japan as Get Bass. Check out our preview here.

8. UEFA Striker - November
A new console without a great football game would be like Euro 2000 without England. Rage Software's lovely UEFA Striker delivers the most realistic player animation to date and plays a tidy game for the full 90. Recreate the thrills of the Champions League in the comfort of your own home. We'll be reviewing this in the next few weeks, after some extensive playtesting, naturally.

9. NFL Blitz 2000 - November
Yankee Doodle and his dandies will be ironing grids on many a Dreamcast come November. Midway's NFL Blitz 2000 turned heads at this year's E3 in Los Angeles and is set to touch down at the same time as Acclaim's NFL Quarterback Club 2000. Both will be looking to establish themselves before the arrival of Sega Sports NFL 2K. Don't be surprised if we see Mr Madden making his 128bit debut in the near future too.

10. TrickStyle - Launch
A frantic hoverboard racer touted as the Dreamcast's answer to Wipeout. Comparisons are inevitable due to the futuristic theme and sumptuous visuals, although TrickStyle has far more in common with the N64's 1080. Loads of stunts and some smart AI could be enough to reproduce Psygnosis' PlayStation success. Check out our preview here.
