Need to get up to speed on Dreamcast? Future Gamer proudly present a handy list of stuff you might want to know about Sega's 128bit console. Without further ado...
20 (count 'em) things you need to know about Dreamcast (not all of them salient!).
It costs £199.
Dreamcast includes a built-in modem, which enables you to access the Internet. Simply plug Dreamcast into your telephone socket and plop in the special Dreamkey CD. Best of all, you can play multiplayer games online.
You get four free email addresses (yourname@uk.dreamcast.com).
Dreamcast has its own Internet portal site where you can check out reviews, previews, hints and tips, buy games and peripherals online, trawl the net using search engine Excite, as well as keep up with all the latest news via Sega's special deal with Sky.
The Dreamcast keyboard costs £20. Heck, it'd be tough writing emails with the controller - although you can!
The console comes bundled with a demo disk. There are playable demos of Ready 2 Rumble (one and two player), Trickstyle, Toy Commander and Monaco GP Racing Simulation 2. Oh, and it features movies of Sonic Adventure, Virtua Fighter 3tb, Red Dog, Snow Surfers, Power Stone, UEFA Striker, Tokyo Highway Battle and Sega Rally 2.
Dreamcast's VM unit (Visual Memory) acts as a memory card for saving games and doubles as a handheld games machine. You can download mini games from Dreamcast, too. It features a 48x32 pixel screen, as well as a mini D-pad. You can even slot two VM units together and transfer information between them.
