So what do you actually get for your £200? A cardboard box filled with loveliness. Closer inspection reveals the following:
Dreamcast console with 33.6Kbps modem
An official Dreamcast controller
RF lead (the bit that plugs into your telly)
Power lead
Dream On demo disc (containing playable demos of Toy Commander, Ready 2 Rumble, TrickStyle, Incoming, Monaco GP Racing Simulation 2 and some movies of forthcoming games)
Dream Key browser CD (this little fella will allow you to access the Internet for gaming, email and educational purposes)
Other peripherals will be available at extra cost, including:
Arcade Stick
It's a joystick, like the ones you get in the arcade. A lovely, sturdy six-button effort, especially for beat 'em up fans.
Visual Memory Unit
This little Game Boy-alike plugs into your controller and serves as a memory card. But that's not all... it's also like a mini Tamagotchi upon which you can play downloadable mini-games.
Keyboard
Surfing the net could be a tad laborious without one of these. Just imagine trying to type "http://www.longaddress.com/games/rally2.html" on your standard controller! If you're going to use the Dreamcast for more than just games, you'll definitely be wanting a keyboard. A snip at 20 quid.
Race Controller
It's a steering wheel but Sega have decided to call it a 'race controller'. High in quality and a must for avid racing fans.
Dreamcast Gun
If you're a fan of House of the Dead 2, you'd better buy the gun - it's a bit cack using a normal controller.
Fishing Controller
Brilliant fun if you've got Sega Bass Fishing; not very good for driving games though. The reel-winding action works a treat, as does the clever motion sensor stuff.
Vibration Pack
Same as the N64's Rumble Pak, only you can plug this into the Dreamcast Gun and the Arcade Stick, as well as the standard controller. However, you can't plug it into the keyboard. Shame.
